Job Satisfaction of Inmates in Prisons as a Basis for Constructing Future Career Plans
Abstract
The article draws attention to the satisfaction of prisoners with work performed during imprisonment, as one of the most important factors of resocialization. It motivates pro-social behavior and is an instrument for achieving re-education, as well as preventing recidivism. A high level of sense of meaning of work performed in prisons leads to greater satisfaction and involvement of prisoners in the process of searching for a job after being released. The results of the own research presented in the article provide an answer to the question: is there a correlation between job satisfaction and planning to find a job after serving a sentence? They show that prisoners who feel greater satisfaction with their work create more realistic plans related to being released and are better prepared to find themselves on the labor market after serving a sentence.
