AUTHOR’S CODE OF ETHICS

The current editorial standards, good practices applied in science, as well as the ethos of a scientist obligate the Author submitting a scientific text to the editorial board of the Polish Journal of Social Rehabilitation to respect the code of ethics.

The Author prepares the article in accordance with the principles laid down by the editorial board in the document “Instruction for Authors”.

Originality of a scientific text

  1. The Author submits a scientific article to only one magazine – the article is not submitted simultaneously to several editorial boards.
  2. The submitted article is original – it has not been previously published in whole or in part in any language. The copyrighted materials (tables, diagrams, quotes) are reproduced with the permission and according to the existing rules on copyright. In the article, the original data are clearly distinguished from previously published data. Sources are provided of all information deriving from other publications.
  3. The article does not infringe the rights of third parties, including intellectual property rights and the right to privacy.

Authorship

  1. All the co-authors of the article meet the criterion of authorship, that is they have a creative contribution to the concept and design of the scientific research or data collection or data analysis and interpretation. They worked on the text or had their creative contribution consisting in substantial changes in the content (concerns substantive amendments, not stylistic). Co-authors are aware and accept that the text has been submitted for publication. They accept the final version before publication.
  2. The Author submitting the text discloses the contribution of individual Authors in the creation of the article. No Author can be ignored.
    Ghostwriting” and “guest authorship” are a manifestation of the author’s dishonesty. “Ghostwriting” occurs when someone has made a substantial contribution to the publication without revealing his participation as one of the authors or without mention of his role in the acknowledgments in the publication.
    Guest authorship” occurs when the author’s contribution is small or did not occur at all, yet despite this he is indicated as an author/co-author of the publication.
  1. In the acknowledgments, the Author mentions all the people (with their permission) contributing to the research, the creation of the article and who are not co-authors.

Reliability and objectivity in presenting scientific research

  1. The data presented in the article were collected in a reliable manner (data was not fabricated or manipulated).
  2. If the partial results have already been presented, the Author informs the editorial board, indicates this fact in the “Author’s Declaration” and places the information in the text.
  3. The Author presents the results of research as objectively as possible.
  4. The Author provides the source of financing, participation of institutions/organizations in the research.
  5. The Author discloses information about potential conflicts of interest, informing the editorial board of the journal of this fact.
